#BookADayUK Day 19 - Favorite Seafaring Novel

Treasure Island - Robert Louis Stevenson

This was a classic I didn't think I'd enjoy as much as I did. For one thing, I saw the 2002 Disney adaption before ever hearing of the book. While it is an adaption of this novel, I knew there'd be differences (however big or small). Young Amanda fell in love over and over with this movie, and even though my tastes might have changed since, that memory is still cherished and was so when I considered reading this novel. In the end though, I'm glad I risked being let down by my own hopes, because Treasure Island lived up to my every hope.
