Quick question about the American School System.
Outsider here with no good information on how the college/uni system works in the U.S., so maybe an american or person with knowledge can be so kind and explain something for me. Because, as far as I understand it you can enter a program, specifically laid out so one will get a degree in a certain area, or you can take stray courses/put together which courses you want to take. Am I right on that?
Because our heroine has so far mentioned being in: calculus, Biology, and American Literature. You see, I can't really see which program this woman would be in/what degree she's pursuing, or why she'd pick these classes. They don't really match, maybe calculus and biology do, but not the literature class. Or are there some classes everyone must take?
